On January 24, 2017 A.M. Best issued an 'A' rating for financial strength and an 'A' and stable outlook long-term issuer credit rating for Grinnell Mutual. This was the 26th consecutive year Grinnell Mutual received an 'A' rating from A.M. Best.

A. M. Best Co. is the oldest insurance rating agency in the world and has been reporting on the financial condition of insurance companies since 1899.

This rating is assigned to companies that have, in our opinion, an excellent ability to meet their ongoing obligations to policyholders.
